On August 6, 2007 Northern Room gave the OK for archive.org:
"Hi,
I am the business manager for the band "Northern Room," and I wanted to
request the creation of a section in your archive for the band. We both
allow and encourage taping of our live shows, with some limitations. A
fan taped one of our shows last month, and I want to encourage the
distribution while also providing a central place for other fans to do
the same. Your archive seems like the perfect place to do that.
I'm in contact with the fan, and as soon as the section is created,
either he or I will upload the show. I also have the audio from a
television appearance, and I would like to upload that show as well.
Our limitations are hopefully easy to understand. Using the terminology
from your FAQ:
--CopyReq
--LimShows (we want to reserve the right to black out some shows from
taping)
--LimSBD, LimMatrix (we discourage tapers from requesting soundboard
feeds, although we might allow some, depending on the venue and situation)
I don't know if you need our approval, but we also approve the creation
of all the lossy download and streaming formats from submitted
materials. The more formats, the better.
Here's our official statement on taping: Northern Room realizes that
taping a live show can be a time-consuming pain in the rear, and also
requires a lot of expensive equipment. Taping a live concert requires
determination, skill, and dedication. Therefore, the presence of a taper
in the audience is one of the highest compliments an artist can receive.
We encourage both the taping and distribution of our live shows for
non-commercial purposes, and we will help you in your efforts to the
extent we are able.
Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions...
